The role:

As a teacher, you will inspire a love of learning in children and foster their development through purposeful, intentional teaching practices that are delivered with creativity and energy.  

You will build meaningful relationships with families, so each child has a strong sense of belonging that supports them to thrive.

Your love of teaching will be reflected in how you mentor and guide educational practices in your room and in your work with the broader centre leadership team to develop, review, and implement high quality education programs, to ensure you’re achieving optimal outcomes for children.

The role is part of a kindergarten program in a long day care setting.  Roles are based in one of three children’s services centres that form part of the Whitehorse Early Learning Services (WELS): Vermont South, Blackburn and Mitcham.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

Comprehensive knowledge and practice reflected by developing innovative programs and curriculum.

The ability to model outstanding professional behaviour and work consistently to strengthen and initiate improvements to the quality of programs and service provision.

The ability to identify problems early and then assess and identify options, utilising experience and professional judgement.

Be capable of working in a team environment, with a positive approach to share decision making and ability to apply initiative.

Knowledge and practical experience in the use of MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Word and the ability to use these effectively, in correspondence and for record keeping and programming needs.
