    The role:

    The Marketing Officer provides marketing and communications support to promote Council’s new performing arts centre The Round. This role will work as a collaborative teammate across The Round team and within the Strategic Marketing and Communications team.

    The Round will be a versatile and inspiring performing arts venue offering an exciting cultural program, and state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor spaces to hire, in an expansive parkland setting. Our mission is to enrich culture, connection and community throughout Melbourne’s East and become an iconic, cultural venue.

    We are seeking a marketing professional who is passionate about working in a performing arts setting and ready to build a new destination venue for Melbourne.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinating the planning, production and publication of social media content
    • Creating engaging content through strong writing, storytelling and use of imagery and video
    • Making website updates as required
    • Creating, segmenting, sending and reporting on email marketing campaigns
    • Establishing and maintaining brand voice the digital environment

    About you:

    We are seeking an experienced marketing professional with a wide range of skills across content creation, social media, digital marketing, communications and more. You will be highly organised and capable of managing a range of diverse projects at once. Experience within or passion for performing arts, entertainment or cultural services is highly desirable.

    As The Round’s Marketing Officer you will:

    • Hold a relevant qualification in marketing, screen media, journalism, communications or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Have a track record of success in managing marketing or communications campaigns or projects within the entertainment or arts industry
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Possess well developed stakeholder collaboration skills
    • Have great organisational and time management skills
